Doug Brogan

League Director and Minor Division Coach

Originally from Rhode Island and in 1991 had transferred to Texas as a Service Manager with Thermo Fisher Scientific. He has three great kids, Jason, Megan, and Matthew who is the reason so much time is given to Challenger League and these great players. In 1999 Doug teamed with ORWALL to start Challenger and Doug has been coaching ever since then. Challenger baseball has always been my Saturdays most of the year since 1999. This program gives a chance for every kid to play organized Baseball and for the parents to network while enjoying watching their kids play. Doug has always felt blessed to be able to help with Challenger League. Feel free to join us!

Darin is the lead coach with the Challenger Minor Team and has been actively involved with the Orwall Challenger program since 2004. Darin's son Matthew plays on the Challenger Minor Team. "Working with the younger kids requires a little more patience at times, but every week some "one thing" happens that makes it all worthwhile.  I really enjoy being around these kids and trying to teach them the game of baseball that I so love, but more than that I just really feel good inside after watching these kids enjoying themselves while giving their best."  Darin works for The Home Depot and lives in The Woodlands with his wife Julie, son Matthew, and daughter Jasmine.

Charlie Dalton

Senior Division Coach

I moved to Houston in 1993 from Tulsa to work as an engineer for Cameron (formerly NATCO). That same year, I married Victoria, a native Galvestonian (BOI), who I had met in Tulsa. We had our son, Seth, in 1997. Seth was born with a physical disability that prevented him from walking unless he wore leg/body braces. I discovered the ORWALL Challenger League in 2003 and signed Seth up as a player. In the spring of 2010, I became a coach for the Major Division. " Baseball is the perfect sport for these kids.  Emphasis is not on team play and winning but on individual play. We try to work with each player and improve his/her skills based on their own abilities. The kids have a great time and the coaching is very rewarding.  Safety of the kids is a high priority.”
